About the event
The mission of Summer Sings is to gather singers from across the city to build community through a one-night-only rehearsal and live-stream performance of a major work (or two!) with local conductors and professional soloists from Vocal Arts Nashville.Â
Singing participants should arrive at 6:30 for rehearsal
Supporting attendees should arrive at 8:00 PM or view the live stream
Repertoire - Leonard Bernstein - Chichester Psalms & [REPERTOIRE CHANGE] Â - Felix Mendelssohn - Richte mich, Gott
Conductors - Mary Bond (Nashville Children's Chorus Curriculum Director and Faculty Coordinator for the Poco a Poco Young Artist Training Festival), Matthew Phelps (Founding Artistic Director of Vocal Arts Nashville, Minister of Music at West End UMC, and Artistic Director of Collegium Cincinnati)
Schedule of events - Singers will begin rehearsal at 6:30 PM. They will have a break with provided refreshments at 7:40 PM, which will be an opportunity to connect with the other singers. At 8 PM, we will perform the works on live-stream which will be available for anyone to listen as well as any attendees who may wish to listen in person*.Â
Your ticket - Covers the provided score, refreshments, use of the facilities, and soloists. It also goes to support Vocal Arts Nashville's upcoming season and helps us continue the work we do to bring professional choral music to our community.Â
*Only singing participants need to reserve a ticket. Please note that this is primarily an event to build community across the many choral circles across the Nashville area. Supporting attendees do not need to purchase a ticket, however, donations are welcome (click here to donate as an attendee/viewer).
